For some reason, i only just discovered that many museums have absolutely amazing collections that are available online, Melbourne State Library has a pretty good pictures archive but a lot is missing and their site sucks ass. Brooklyn Museums collection is awesome, especially the stuff from the early 1900's, which is mainly due to this bloke named William Henry Goodyear, his photography of Turkey and Pompeii is great. Visit their site or visit their flickr page. I haven't even tried the MET or MoMa sites yet, my head may explode.

MELBOURNE DESIGN MARKET

friend told me about this, looks pretty cool.

designers market held in the fed square/ngv carpark twice a year, one coming up on 6th of december, 10am to 5pm, free entry. looks like a great place to pick up some great zines and books. visit http://www.melbournedesignmarket.com.au/ for more.

WEEGEE

So i just came across this photographer called Weegee in my reading and found his shot's are really interesting, working as a press photographer in the early 1900's in the New York/New Jersey area, armed with a police radio and had a crazy knack for arriving to scenes before authorities, very suspect. Anyway, he made quite a name for himself, apparently he had a darkroom set up in the boot of his car and would develop the shots at the scene. Google his shit, it's amazing.
